Police Pension Board Resident Volunteer
The Village of Sugar Grove is seeking a candidate to fill an open appointed position on the Police Pension Board. Interested individuals must meet the following requirements:
Must be a resident of the Village of Sugar Grove, and be available to attend in-person meetings, which start at 8 a.m. and can last several hours. The upcoming board meeting dates are as follows:
- January 16, 2026
- April 17, 2026
- July 17, 2026
- October 16, 2026
All meetings will be held at the Sugar Grove Fire Department, located at 25 Municipal Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554, while the Police Department is under construction.
The selected person will be required to complete 16 hours of state training within the first year, with any associated costs covered by the pension board. Following that, they must complete 8 hours of continuing education each year, which is also paid for by the board if applicable. Additionally, Open Meetings Act training and annual sexual harassment prevention training must be completed in accordance with the Illinois Human Rights Act.
Please note that this position is volunteer-based, and there is no compensation for serving on the board.
