AECOM Fiber Hut Project

Middle Mile Infrastructure (Meta) and AECOM are requesting a Special Use Permit for a Public Utility Facility at a property located off of Route 30. The Property is currently zoned M1 – Limited Manufacturing District. Specifically, the proposed Special Use will allow for the construction of multiple fiber amplification huts with HVAC systems and generators within the easement on the property.

Sugar Grove Township

On September 2, 2025, the Village Board approved a Map Amendment for the Sugar Grove Township to rezone the property at 70 1st Street from the R2 District to the B3 District and also approved a Preliminary and Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) to construct a storage building on the property.

Fire Department Denny Road Training Site

On April 15, 2025, the Village Board approved the Preliminary Planned Unit Development (PUD), Preliminary Plat of Subdivision, and Final Planned Unit Development for Phase I for a Fire District training site on Denny Road.  The proposal includes several phases to the project to be developed over time.  The phases include a burn tower training structure that is designed to mostly use theatrical smoke for training purposes, a new training facility, and a future fire station.

On December 17, 2024, the Village Board approved a Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) and Special Use Permit for property located off of Galena Blvd in Sugar Grove Center for a Jiffy Lube.

The Village Board approved the Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) and Final Plat of Subdivision plans for the Brighton Ridge subdivision, at the intersection of Galena Boulevard and Illinois Route 56. The proposed development includes 332 units (174 Single-Family lots and 148 townhome units) and will connect directly to Windsor Pont via Hampton Road.

Maple Grove – The Silverthorne Group

UPDATE: As of January 10, 2025 the petitioner has withdrawn their application at this time.  The petitioner is seeking rezoning, approval of a preliminary planned unit development, and preliminary plat of subdivision at the October 16th Zoning Board of Appeals meeting. The proposed development is located at the intersection of Denny Road and Bliss Road.

Settlers Ridge – BHMGU

On October 8th at a special meeting of the Planning Commission, the petitioner is requesting an amendment to the Settlers Ridge Planned Development District (PDD). The amendment would approve construction to begin for a new area of Settlers Ridge for approximately 95 homes.

On September 10, 2024, the Village Board approved an Annexation Agreement, Property Subdivision, and Planned Development District. The developer is currently acquiring easements and engineering.

The new lease spaces are located next to Jewel. Cilantro is finalizing construction and will be opening soon. Subway and Cold Stone Creamery opened earlier this year. Three spots remain vacant and the Village along with the property owner hope to fill them soon.
