This project is complete.
This project included Microsurfacing.
Microsurfacing is a protective seal coat which extends the life of pavement. It is a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion blended with finely crushed stone for traction.
This is a cost-effective method to renew the road surface and seal minor cracks and other irregularities. This preventive maintenance process protects the pavement from moisture penetration and oxidation.
Similar to painting a house, microsurfacing creates a protective layer which preserves the underlying structure and prevents the need for more expensive repairs in the future.
Microsurfacing in the Walnut Woods neighborhood has been completed. Thank you for your patience during this construction project.
As part of the Village’s 2019 Road Program, microsurfacing and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements will be completed in the Walnut Woods neighborhood. The Village has received notice that the ADA improvements, which involves tearing out existing crosswalks and installing curb ramps, will begin the week of June 17, 2019. Curb ramps provide an accessible route that people with disabilities can use to safely transition from a roadway to the curbed sidewalk and vice versa.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this construction project.
