On April 17, 2022, the Village Board designated May 1-7, 2022 Public Service Recognition Week in the Village of Sugar Grove. Since 1985, Public Service Recognition Week has been celebrated the first week of May to honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees in positions ranging from teachers to mail carriers to code enforcement officials to law enforcement officers.
Civil servants play a key role in our democracy and their contributions have deep impacts on the way we live. In addition to keeping us safe and maintaining our infrastructure on a daily basis, public service employees have accomplished many significant feats including developing GPS technology (Department of Defense), walking on the moon (NASA), and protecting our nation (Armed Forces).
In Sugar Grove, our public service employees work hard every day to help ensure the community continues to be a wonderful place to reside. Village employees maintain our streets, provide safe water, ensure safe buildings, and protect our residents.
The Village of Sugar Grove recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of government employees at all levels of public service who keep our village, county, state, and country safe and thriving.
