The Village of Sugar Grove continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped our community since early spring. The Village continues to provide updates on our website at www.sugargroveil.gov/coronavirus-information/.
On May 29th, the State of Illinois entered Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan, a public health plan that gradually reintroduces aspects of community life that have been restricted due to COVID-19. As part of Phase 3, restaurants are now able to open for outdoor dining service. At last night’s Village Board meeting, the Board voted to ratify Executive Order 2020-02 to allow outdoor dining in Sugar Grove. Residents are encouraged to support local businesses in compliance with the Plan.
While we are all excited at the prospect of resuming regular activities, it is important to remember that the community still faces the threat of COVID-19. Residents are reminded to follow Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) safety guidelines including continued social distancing, hand washing and the use of face coverings.
I thank you for your diligence, grace and patience during this difficult time.
