Village Board Emergency Meeting March 17, 2020

The Village President and Board of Trustees have scheduled an emergency meeting for 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2020, to address the COVID-19 situation. Actions for consideration include the declaration of a local state of emergency and a resolution pertaining thereto.

Although no confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Sugar Grove, a declaration of emergency allows Village officials to assemble resources and personnel to expedite emergency planning measures and boost the ability to deploy rapid response to threats posed by the coronavirus. This declaration coincides with similar actions taken earlier this week by the Governor to allow for more effective response to the evolving COVID-19 public health crisis.

“We are taking this precaution to protect the safety and security of our community,” President Sean Michels said. “The Village has the responsibility to ensure that we can bring all available local, state and federal resources to respond to this ever changing situation.”

In accordance with President Trump’s direction to limit gatherings to 10 or fewer people, room attendance at tonight’s meeting will be capped at no more than 10 people. If needed, attendees will be rotated in. Entrance to the Board Meeting will be through the door located at the back of Village Hall.
