SUGAR GROVE, IL 60554
The Village of Sugar Grove will conduct an open house public information meeting regarding the preliminary engineering study to construct a bridge and shared-use path between Belle Vue Lane and the Virgil Gilman Trail in Sugar Grove. The purpose of the meeting is to present proposed project information and potential impacts and to answer project questions and receive public comments. There has been an environmental document prepared supporting a Categorical Exclusion (CE) for the project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and this public information meeting is being held to address requirements of 23 CFR 771.111.
The proposed project includes construction of a hot-mix asphalt shared-use path and an 80-foot pedestrian/cyclist bridge over Blackberry Creek.
Additional right of way and easements will not be required as the project is being constructed on property owned by the Sugar Grove Park District and the Kane County Forest Preserve, both of whom are partners on this project.
This public information meeting will also serve to involve and obtain the views of the public regarding impacts and proposed mitigation for wetland impacts and impacts to the Blackberry Creek floodplain.
The public information meeting will be conducted in an open house format with no formal presentation. Personnel from Sugar Grove and their engineering consultant, Engineering Enterprises, Inc., will be available to provide information, answer questions, and receive comments. Exhibits, maps, preliminary plans, and environmental reports will be available for review during the hearing and for two weeks following the public information meeting at the Sugar Grove Village Hall. All interested persons are invited to attend and participate. Comments received by July 31, 2018 will be made part of the public record and considered as the preliminary engineering study is finalized.
