I-88 Repair Work Continues Through Year End

Scheduled maintenance and repair work on roadway, bridges and ramps on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) continue. All work was scheduled for completion by the end of 2019, however, work does continue in some areas in 2020. See the link below for updates.

The Illinois Tollway has scheduled maintenance and repair work on roadway, bridges and ramps on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88). Work in 2019 includes:

  • Roadway pavement repairs between Illinois Route 56 in Sugar Grove and Illinois Route 59 in Naperville, to extend the life of the roadway and provide a smoother riding surface for the traveling public.
  • Completion of improvements between Illinois Route 251 and Illinois Route 56 and completion of lighting work between Illinois Route 59 and York Road.
  • Repairs to ramps at Orchard Road, Illinois Route 31 and Illinois Route 56 and local cross road bridge improvements on Orchard Road, Illinois Route 25, Randall Road, Illinois Route 31, Eola Road and South First Street in DeKalb, as well as on the EJ & E Railroad over I-88.

Construction zone speed limits are in effect in all construction zones 24/7, and drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. A 45 mph work zone speed limit will be in effect on I-88 throughout the repair project. Work zone speed limits will also be in place on ramps and local crossroad bridges.
