Holiday decorating and strings of lights that won’t work go hand and hand. Make it a green holiday this season by recycling your unwanted lights instead of throwing them away.
DC Recycling Systems will accept holiday lights as part of its monthly electronics pickup the first full week of each month on your regular day of garbage/recycling service. The next electronics pickup is December 2nd and 3rd 2019. Lights need to be placed in a cardboard box labeled “e-waste” and placed at the curb. All electronics pickups must be scheduled online 7 days in advance. Click here to schedule a pickup.
