On Monday, November 9, Governor Pritzker announced the implementation of “Restore Illinois” COVID-19 Tier 2 mitigation efforts in Kane County effective Wednesday, November 11. These additional mitigation efforts further limit the number of people at tables and gatherings in addition to the Tier 1 mitigation restrictions already in place. These enhanced mitigation efforts were set to slow the spread of COVID-19 in response to Region 8 (Kane and DuPage Counties) remaining above the 8 percent positivity threshold after 14 days under Tier 1 mitigations. A complete summary of the changes can be found on the State’s website.
To reverse the upward trajectory of COVID-19 cases and help our community return to business, all residents are urged to do their part and follow the 3 Ws.
- WEAR a mask
- WATCH your distance
- WASH your hands.
Merchants are encouraged to visit the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity website for the grant information and assistance programs to help during the pandemic.
Insofar as the mitigation efforts pertain to the current public health crisis, the Kane County Health Department is encouraging the community to report concerns about COVID Safety Compliance by calling 630-208-3801 or sending an email to COVIDConcerns@co.kane.il.us. The Health Department is working with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office to investigate and enforce violations.
