Coast Oak of Settlers Ridge has received a permit from IDOT to construct turn lanes at Galena and Gordon; and Galena and IL56. IDOT will oversee the construction on the project because Galena Boulevard is an IDOT owned and controlled road. The engineer on the project for Coast Oak is Steve Kaminski from Mackie Consultants of Rosemont IL.

The proposed improvements consist of widening Galena Boulevard to add a single dedicated left turn lane in the westbound approach and a single dedicated right turn lane in the eastbound approach at the intersection with Gordon Road. Also included at this time is the widening of Galena Boulevard to add a single dedicated right turn lane in the westbound approach at the intersection with IL56.
