The Village of Sugar Grove is pleased to announce that after 24 years of working full-time for the Village of Sugar Grove Cynthia Galbreath will become a part-time employee on April 30th.
“The transition to part-time is something I have been dreaming of for a while. When I began employment (part-time) here I never thought that within a year I would become a full-time employee and be appointed as Village Clerk. Last year the Village Board’s decision to convert to a new financial program that is extremely efficient has proven to be a wise one for the community and the answer to my dream. Now that is up and running and staff is fully trained rather than plunge into new projects I decided it was time to make my dream come true and move in a different direction, semi-retirement. I look forward to this new stage in my life, working part-time until I fully retire and serving a community I love“, stated Cindy Galbreath.
President Michels stated, “The Board and I appreciate the work Cindy performs in her current capacity and look forward to her continuing to serve the community in a her part-time position. When she first began employment with the Village, I worked with her in my capacity as a Parks Committee Chairperson, then Village Trustee, and now as Village President. Cindy has worked with the Board and myself since 1994. We sincerely hope she enjoys her time away from office as fully as she can”.
As of April 30, 2018, the Village Clerk, Cynthia Galbreath, will be available on Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Notary services will still be available Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Voter registration will be available during these hours as well, however, you can register to vote online using the State Board of Elections voter registration. https://ova.elections.il.gov/.
