The Illinois Tollway is rebuilding the Illinois Route 47 Interchange on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) to provide a new, full-access interchange. The $25 million project will realign existing ramps and build new ramps creating greater access into the Sugar Grove community and supporting economic development opportunities along Route 47. The project will also include the rehabilitation of the existing Route 47 Bridge over I-88.
Work on the interchange will begin the week of April 1. On I-88, shoulder closures and temporary lane closures will be scheduled for striping and rumble strip removal. Once the initial work is complete, permanent lane shifts on I-88 are scheduled to begin.
On IL Route 47 between Finley Road and Seavey Road, traffic is scheduled to be reduced to a single lane in both directions.
A 45 mph work zone speed limit will be in effect on IL Route 47 and I-88 throughout the project.
Traffic is scheduled to remain in this configuration for the duration of the project, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
